I read its iffy, as well as being redundant with some of the aforementioned mods. There are multiple weapons mods, both for graphics and balance. this mod changes gameplay unfortunately, so we'll have to wait for the new UARMM. I've played FreeSpace 2 SCP, Privateer Gold+PU, and Thief2 mods recently, so I was quite happy to see the wealth of useful mods for this horror filled DX-esc title. With that said, somehow, I never played System Shock 1 or 2. there is no possible way I could write all the games I've played, and/or estimate the cumulative years spent playing them. all within the week they came out (remember speech packs?). I played Wolfenstein 3D the week it came out, as well as Doom 1-3, Ultima Underworld 1+2, Wing Commander and Privateer 1+2, Descent, Quake. To start off, I have played almost every FPS created, along with pretty much every RPG (except for Baulders Gate remakes with that isometric view nonsense.). Now, there probably is a topic like this somewhere, and I did see references in the Mod Archives to questions regarding different mods used in parallel, but just incase someone else out there wants to make the best game possible with all these wonderful mods and can't find a comprehensive package, well. After spending these hours doing so, I realized I could have saved myself the trouble had there been a topic about combining all the mods to make one killer game. I never really had any other problems.I've spent the past hour or two or 3 (definately three) reading the details of every Mod for System Shock 2 and downloading a fair share of them. The AI isn't that bad, the only problem I ever had was the auto-traders refusing to launch somtimes but I hear that problem has been fixed. Then I would put time compression to maximum and leave it for a few hours or overnight.Įven then if you are halfway decent at trading and buy a transport for yourself you can build a solar energy collection plant fairly quick and they make great money. ![]() One of the things I liked to do was get enough money for a 2-4 transports and put those auto-trade modules on them. ![]() So long as you have decent ram it seems to run fine, plus patches have made the game run much faster.Īs far as building a commercial empire it didn't take me weeks. Oh, and all those mods including Vegastrike itself (which I didn't really like that much. I was very happy to see Privateer remade I spent months with the original. By the way, in Remake you can even possess more than just the one ship you're flying. You'll have to keep your eyes open for some of the opportunities to get them - and you'll have to have the credits for buying them, else you won't ever get those ships. You can buy Talons, Broadswords, even the one or the other Kilrathi ship at some point during the game. I like Privateer Remake better than Privateer - Gemini Gold, because in Remake you can acquire more than just three ships. The differences between both is listed here: At least you can already try out some battles.Īs I mentioned and as you can see, there are two Privateer-versions made, both are fully playable and almost completely devoid of bugs. The Star-Trek-mod isn't done, yet, either. Armada available I don't know how completed it is, yet. There's a list of the mods available for it on the right there's also a remake of Wing Cmdr. One other game I can really recommend for the trading/pirating/bounty-hunting-type of playing is one of the two Wing Commander Privateer-Remakes based on the VegaStrike-engine.
